What Does A Launch Your Podcast VIP Day Look Like?

When somebody books a Launch Your Podcast VIP day with us, we partner together to organize your ideas, clarify your goals and strategy and ultimately get your podcast out into the world in as little as 2 days. Together between a 90 minute Podcast Mapping Session and an 8 hour studio recording and teaching day (can be customized to fit your time preferences and needs,) we’ll tackle the needle moving tasks to get your project up and running. Before you leave your first episodes will be recorded, edited, and published without having you having to take time to figure out on your own.

❌ You won’t have to purchase and learn how to use the tech
❌ You won’t have to spend hours planning your podcast
❌ You won’t be left guessing how your audience will magically appear
❌ You won’t have to figure out how to publish your podcast

✅ You’ll get production notes + help organizing your podcast ideas
✅ You’ll get access to our studio to record in a quiet, inspiring space
✅ You’ll be equipped with the audio tech, lighting, and video
✅ You’ll leave with 3-4 episodes recorded, at least 1 episode edited, and have been trained on how to edit and publish your show with ease in the future.

Phase One: Pre-production & Planning

First, we spend about 90 minutes or so on Zoom, clarifying your show idea + goals, mission and audience, mapping your ideas into potent episodes and organizing all the thoughts running through your head.

Phase Two: VIP Day

Recording

When your first session is done, we then book your 8 hour VIP day session. You’ll come into our distraction free, ready-to-record-in studio to get your first couple of episodes captured.

Our studio is equipped with high-quality gear and the best part is – you don’t have to learn how to use it! We’ll be there to run all of the equipment- you simply talk and share.

When Steph joined us in studio, she shared “I always have tech issues- I cant explain it but I seem to attract them.” She was relieved to know, that not only did she not need to learn all about the tech, but that she didn’t have to control it either.

We set her up with our Rodecaster Pro 2 mixer which was a great fit because it records a backup audio file in addition to the one you capture on your computer. That way, if tech issues arise, you don’t have to stress over it.

Also, with Steph, we typically recommend the mic be a fist away from your mouth, but we found with her voice that changing the sound a bit worked better for her- a few little things you notice with extra production help.

Last but not least, coaching her through her first recordings was one of her favorite parts. She’d take the space to record and then I’d give her feedback on whether she needed another take. Or I’d hop on her computer and show her my magical editing tricks so she could see the goodness in a take that, at first, wasn’t her favorite.

Editing

Not only do we help you organize your podcast and coach you on your recordings, but then we walk you through a hands-on tutorial to show you how to edit and publish too.

We recommend Descript because editing your audio and video is as easy as writing in a Google Doc.

When Liz came in-studio for her VIP day, she knew she wanted to continue to produce her podcast at home on her own, but she had never edited or created content like this before. She wanted to make this happen but she wanted to do it simply.

So that’s exactly what I showed her and she couldn’t believe how simple the software was to learn after a few tries. I can get a little crazy with my editing, my perfectionistic ways can make it a longer project than it needs to be, and Liz related to that too. But I coached through how editing doesn’t just happen after your recording is done, it happens behind the mic too. Now that she’s over 17 episodes in to the Tap into Health Podcast (she made it past the podfade mark- woohoo!) she feels the difference and is so excited about her growth.

Since Liz’s VIP day I’ve also uncovered an even simpler way to record and edit that streamlines the process and requires less effort. This is what I’d show you when you come in studio too and is what we’ve been helping our client Melissa with.

Publishing

Using Substack, we teach you how to publish those podcast episodes so people can not only hear them but read them or even watch them too. We help you launch your podcast on Substack because it allows your creation to all be in one place. Upload your video and it pulls the audio and adds it to your podcast feed. Write an entire blog-post-style transcription below (don’t worry it’s easier than you think) for your listeners to consume and when you hit post it not only emails them all the information but allows Google to reference it through SEO too. Plus there is a comments section on this page which means you can build community all at the same time.

With just one click of a button, you can get all of your creation and marketing done at once.

Working with our VIP day turned full-scale production client Melissa, showed her the power of Substack.

Melissa Jackson Reframing Neurodiversity Podcast

Collin and I helped Melissa launch her first season through her website and Spotify in a more traditional way. She had the intro and outro, the seasons, the consistent posting schedule and it was great for where she started.

But quickly we all felt a pull for something deeper, something simpler and something where she could support her audience more (and get paid while doing it.)

And that’s where Substack came in. Here is how Melissa’s show started and here’s how it’s going now. (Not to mention the simple act of her publishing earns her a little recurring revenue and a more engaged and happy audience.)

During her VIP day, we were able to help her with the scariest part for her too- the tech. Setting up her podcast in her hosting software, connecting that to Apple and Spotify, turning her episodes into blogs posts that Google can find and show notes so listeners know how to go deeper and teaching her how to schedule her episodes so she doesn’t have to log in to post on the day she wants to.

Melissa explained what a relief it was to not have to learn it all on her own. She shared that if she would have had to do the research and mess around with the steps (on top of her tech fears) she never would have started.

And what a shame that would be, because the work she’s creating is out of this world and so so needed! That’s our hope for you with this VIP day, is that nothing gets in your way of spreading your so important and potent message.

Ongoing support after the VIP Day

That’s also why our support doesn’t end after the actual VIP Day either.

I‘ll continue to help you over Zoom calls for the first month of the process of making sure you have all your questions answered and even hands on tutorials so you can see how to implement this all seamlessly.

You aren’t just handed the tools, given the support and then left to your own devices.

I really want to make sure you walk away feeling prolific with your work- like there’s nothing holding you back. I want you to feel like you got this! And that you’ve gone through the recording, editing, and publishing stages enough times that you know you can continue to produce yourself.

At the end of the day, joining us for a VIP Day:

Not only allows you to deepen your in-person connections by bringing your guests into our professional and comfortable space but it also allows you to create in space instead of alone in a vacuum.

With our coaching and production support, you will leave knowing what to do and what the most important actions are to take that move the needle forward without wasting time. Getting everything done in a high-quality manner!

  • Typically recording at least 3 to 4 episodes.
  • Where all the behind-the-scenes tech stuff is taken care of.
  • Leaving with a sense of accomplishment and confidence going into the next stage of your podcast!

You’ll be able to see all the possibilities of podcasting: how supportive it can be to your business and goals.

And at the end of the day, it’s a lot of fun. Not only do we get the work stuff done, but we have time to connect! We have time to grab a bite to eat. It just makes the process that can be daunting more exciting and connective.

Why Launch a Podcast VIP Day Benefits Your Business + Simplifies Your Marketing

If you’re new to podcasting, you may not realize it but podcasting can make your marketing easier.

While you might not fully recognize the opportunity. podcasting can be the one thing that you create, and it does everything everything else for you.

For example, if you record a podcast with video and with good audio, and you post it in one place on Substack, and then use and repurpose your content elsewhere.

Repurpose Podcasts as Social Media Videos

You can splice up your video to create the snippets for different social media platforms, or you can overlay that audio onto some B roll, and make that into short for video for Reels, TitkTok, or YouTube Shorts.

There’s so many different ways that you can then use the content you create by just podcasting. Another example is by using your podcast on your website, in blog form.

Repurpose Podcasts as Blog Content

Another example is by using your podcast on your website, in blog form. We recommend and we focus our days on Substack, but you can also, copy and paste the certain ones that would be helpful for your client experience and have those also on your blog.

Podcasting Oportunities

Podcasting allows so much more to be had. If a writing a book is on your mind, then this is the first step towards writing that book.

If you want to grow as an expert in your field, build an audience organically, or just share your message – podcasting is an opportunity worth exploring.
